November is designated as National Military Family Appreciation Month. It is when the country honors military families, acknowledging the sacrifices they make while supporting their servicemen and women. Veterans & Military Families Month was established in 1996 by the Armed Services YMCA, with the U.S. Government recognizing the occasion every year since. Each November, the President signs a proclamation declaring November National Veterans & Military Families Month, and with hundreds of thousands of service members deployed overseas, recognizing the daily sacrifices made by active duty, Guard, and Reserve military families has never been more important. Caddo Mills ISD honors military families, acknowledging the sacrifices they make while supporting their servicemen and women.

But in the grand vision of Gene and Jerry Jones, great sporting events and great works of art are able to come together in beautiful and unexpected ways throughout the building. The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) is dedicated to promoting patriotism, civic responsibility, public service, and leadership in our nation’s communities. Each year Caddo Mills High School gets to nominate 4 students to attend the MOWW Youth Leadership Conference. We had 4 students who were chosen and who all attended and it was funded by the MOWW. The four students were Samuel Adams, Taylor Allen, Brennan Baker, and Landry Swinson. While at the conference, Brennan Baker was the 1st Runner-Up for Outstanding Student at the Texas A&M Youth Leadership Conference. For her accomplishment, the MOWW has awarded her the Youth Merit Medal.
