We are incredibly proud of Kayson McAfee, who recently participated in the Texas Youth Livestock Association's (TYLA) Build a Bill Program! This groundbreaking initiative empowers young leaders to gain firsthand experience in crafting legislation that addresses critical issues in the agriculture industry. Kayson worked with industry professionals to develop and present a bill focused on integrating agriculture education into K-5 classrooms. She delivered her presentation to Capitol staff, industry leaders, and legislators, showcasing her leadership and passion for shaping the future of agriculture. This program, which selected only 12 students from across Texas, provides high school students with the skills and knowledge needed to advocate for meaningful change. We are so proud of Kayson for representing CMHS with grace and determination!

November 20-23, the CMHS Thespian Troupe 11830 competed and participated in the Texas Thespian Festival hosted at the Gaylord Texan. 22 students traveled and competed, 14 students ranked superior in their events to qualify for Nationals. This is only the second year for CMHS to participate in the event and only our first year to have an official troupe. Congratulations to these students and break a leg to the 6 who plan for their second chance to qualify in the virtual contest!
