In spring, students in grades 3-12 completed their respective STAAR tests. Scores will be available in June. Please refer to the attached newsletter for more details and score release dates.

Summer School Bus update for today: bus 191 and 202 are staying at Griffis for a Shelter in Place until the storm passes. If you want to come to school to get your child before we release you may do so in the front office. We will communicate when the buses will be released to run their route. Due to the weather and road conditions, Summer School is canceled today, Tuesday, May 28. Summer School will resume on May 29.
SUMMER SCHOOL UPDATE FOR TUESDAY:
Summer School has been cancelled for today. We will see you tomorrow. Doors open at 8:15 and close begins at 8:30. Dismissal is at 11:30x.
Bus transportation for Summer School is cancelled this morning due to the weather and road conditions.
Summer school will still be open to those that can make it! We will provide bus transportation this afternoon.

Monday: Field Day @ Ed Locker Stadium. Start time- 8:45
Tuesday: Kindergarten Graduation
Wednesday: Last Day of School and Early Release @ 1:15
May 22, the last day of school, is an Early Release Day.
Today 2nd grade shared their "Words of Wisdom" with the 1st graders. We have had a wonderful year and looking forward to next year.
Griffis: Lunch on the Lawn is ON for tomorrow! The weather forecast does not show rain for tomorrow. The ground will be wet. You may eat on the concrete areas or you may sign your student out for the day. Please message your students homeroom teacher to sign them out early.
Here are a few reminders for dismissal with heavy rain, thunderstorms or severe weather: If your child is normally a walker, parents have two options:
1. Normal routine of meeting your child at the playground fence. We will be walking out the front entrance due to the amount of rain we have received.
2. Join the appropriate car line to pick your child up in a vehicle. We will not dismiss bike riders or walkers without a guardian present for all grade levels.
Please call the front office to make a transportation change for your bike rider or walker due to the weather. Car rider signs help with the dismissal process. If you do not have one, you can create your own:)

Today in 3rd Grade we wrapped up our week of learning about Tornadoes🌪️ Students read I Survived the Joplin Tornado, 2011! In math we learned about the tornado rating scale and we finished off with making a tornado in a jar!!
Smith and Sinclair had a blast making our tornadoes in a bottle!
