Second grade learned all about helping our Earth out by reusing items that could have been trash. Their creative juices were flowing and they were challenged with narrowing down what to make!

Our Big Kahuna sale started this week! Each day at lunch, students can turn in their tickets for sales to draw a blind bag for their collectible lanyard keychains, which they are so excited about!

These crazy kids still love Kona Ice on a cold day! 😜

Popcorn and poetry makes for a sense-sational Fun Friday snack!

District maintenance crews have worked diligently today to prepare parking lots and sidewalks in anticipation of welcoming staff and students back tomorrow. Major roadways, including I-30 and Highway 66, are in good condition. However, many neighborhood streets, county roads, and several parking lots remain covered with a thick layer of ice.
To ensure the safety of our families, staff, and students, CMISD will be closed on January 29.

Water has been restored to our campuses.

Due to a water main break in town, water service to the Middle School, Lee Elementary, and the Intermediate School has been affected. Students are currently eating lunch.
City crews are actively working to repair the break, and water service is expected to be restored within a couple of hours. The High School, Griffis, and Kirkpatrick campuses are not impacted by the water main break.
If possible, parents are encouraged to pick up their students from the affected campuses. If you are unable to do so, normal dismissal procedures will remain in place.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Any changes and updates will be communicated throughout the afternoon.

One of our favorite days of the year is reading and extending our learning with How the Grinch Stole Christmas! ❤️ No Grinches to be had in 2nd grade!

What a fun Friday in 2nd grade! Students picked their rotation. They reviewed the different states of matter with Grinch slime in Mrs. Herring's class and made Grinch pancakes with Mrs. B. It was all about Math in Mrs. Stewart's class. We estimated how many m&m's would fit in the Grinch's heart and made Grinch Dust. In Mrs. Tollison's class, they used their engineering skills to stack presents on Santa's sleigh.
