Ms. Jenkins & Ms. Jennah's PK friends have been exploring our 5 senses this week. Today we used our sense of Taste 👅. Our eyes and nose tricked us, the chocolate that looked and smelled so good was actually unsweetened bitter chocolate. 🍫 3 friends actually liked it! The lemon 🍋 was sour until we dipped it into sweet raw cane sugar to cut the tart! We were excited about Cheetos, until our tastebuds realized they were spicy jalepeno Cheetos! About 1/2 the class asked for more!

Due to a medical emergency in the area, the high school parking lot will be utilized for a medical helicopter landing. This does not involve CMISD students.

Boosterthon Update!
What is Boosterthon? Boosterthon is the ONE school fundraiser that Griffis participates in all year! It is a fun Glow Run that all students participate in. All students will receive a t-shirt from PTO. Students can earn prizes for donations and for registering online.
When is the Glow Run? The run is Friday, 9/20 in the gym during Specials time. Please make sure your student wears tennis shoes to run fast!
Can parents/visitors attend? PTO has volunteers signed up for prizes and the water table at the run. Unfortunately, due to space in the gym parents/visitors are not able to attend this event.
What is our goal? Our school goal is 20k, we are SO close at 16k right now! If we reach our goal Mrs. Colwell and Mrs. Gray will get slimed!
Go to mybooster.com today to donate to our school. Thank you for your continued support!

Pre-K is very thankful for Officer Galvan! He helps us everyday at school. Today he taught us all about being a police officer.

Students in Mrs. Dennison's Science classes conducted a fun experiment comparing how friction affects the distance a model car will travel.

Keep those Boosterthon pledges coming. Mrs. Bailey’s class won last night’s challenge and earned a popsicle party! Tonight’s challenge is extra recess!
Griffis is going to the High School Pep Rally tomorrow. Blackout is our theme! Everyone is encouraged to wear black Foxes gear.

Please see the attached update from Superintendent Luke Allison.

At recess, our third graders got to interact with a few of our Pre-K students! It’s so great to see our third graders become leaders and see the younger ones gain some confidence on the playground!! We love our Griffis family💚🦊
