District maintenance crews have worked diligently today to prepare parking lots and sidewalks in anticipation of welcoming staff and students back tomorrow. Major roadways, including I-30 and Highway 66, are in good condition. However, many neighborhood streets, county roads, and several parking lots remain covered with a thick layer of ice.
To ensure the safety of our families, staff, and students, CMISD will be closed on January 29.

Girls Game is CANCELLED tomorrow
TXDOT came out to CMMS today to give a lesson on the importance of wearing seatbelts to some of our classes! Students got to experience an engaging lesson with the Rollover Simulator (no humans were in the simulator) and hear from two retired Officers who were able to give first hand accounts of working traffic accidents. Thank you TXDOT for coming out today! (Bonus: Mr. Van Meter got to reconnect with and see the Mom of one of his childhood friends! Small world!)
The eyes of Middle School are upon you... all the livelong day! These gorgeous drawings from Mrs. Campbell's art students, will soon be inspiring stories for Mrs. Bean's RLA classes!
Water has been restored to our campuses.
Due to a water main break in town, water service to the Middle School, Lee Elementary, and the Intermediate School has been affected. Students are currently eating lunch.
City crews are actively working to repair the break, and water service is expected to be restored within a couple of hours. The High School, Griffis, and Kirkpatrick campuses are not impacted by the water main break.
If possible, parents are encouraged to pick up their students from the affected campuses. If you are unable to do so, normal dismissal procedures will remain in place.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Any changes and updates will be communicated throughout the afternoon.
