WELCOME TO CADDO MILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL VEX ROBOTICS!

Our season is about to kick off!

STEM Classes are completely separate from the Robotics club. Robotics meets solely outside of the school day and does not have any course requirements!

All Middle School students will compete in VEX IQ!

The 2023-2024 Game Fill Volume can be found here: Full Volume

Practices will be held on Wednesdays for 7th and 8th Graders.

Students have the option of attending before school starting at 7:00 or after school until 4:00.

We set up two practice times for student with practice conflicts. Students are not expected to attend both time slots.

CMMS will register up to six teams for VEX IQ. This means multiple robots and multiple teams will be able to attend competitions. Each team can have up to eight students. These students will be chosen based on their contributions, practice attendance, and overall attitude.

TEAM EXPECTATIONS

Regardless of grade level, students who want to compete need to attend meetings regularly and contribute to the overall success of the robotics team. Students will be expected to work together, follow instructions, clean up after themselves, and be on time. Students who disrupt practice will be asked to leave immediately. Any student who fails to meet these expectations will not attend competitions.

Students must meet UIL eligibility requirements. Students who are UIL ineligible cannot attend practices or competitions until they regain eligibility.

VEX IQ competitions require students to work with other teams from other schools. Events will randomly assign teams to compete together and advancing teams are allowed to choose a partner in the final rounds. Because of this, it is vital students be able to meet and work with students from other schools. This is a great component to the VEX competition because it improves interpersonal communication and student confidence. Students who refuse to speak to other teams will not compete well.

VEX Robotics and Beta Club Robotics are two separate competitions and are not related. See the Beta Club sponsors for more information about the challenge for Beta Club Robotics this year.
