I am very excited to start my 4th year at Caddo Mills High school!
Animals and science are my passion! While I was a freshman in high school, I started working as a vet assistant/tech/kennel help and my love of vet med began! I worked at the same vet clinic all throughout high school and when I came home on college breaks. Total, I worked 8 years as a vet tech and loved being able to interact with the animals and their owners.
I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's of Science and then went on to complete a Master's in Veterinary Pathobiology from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in Oklahoma, I spent my time researching parasites of domestic animals for my master's thesis.
I personally have 6 Australian Shepherds, all of whom I think of as my "furkids." I actively train and show my dogs in agility and obedience trials around Texas. My dogs also serve as my demo dogs in class and students will be able to work with them and get to know them throughout the year. We also have a classroom snake, rabbits, and fish that students will be interacting with!
Before coming to Caddo Mills I spent 4 years in Quinlan at Ford High School teaching the animal science program, and before that, I taught advanced placement Biology and Anatomy and Physiology at Marshall High School in Marshall, Tx.
