  • The Cross Country teams competed at the Commerce Tiger run on Saturday (10/3). Amber Reever won the varsity girls division with a season best time of 12:57. Emily McMahan placed 15th and Aubry Welch finished 16th. Blake Dunnam was best finisher in varsity boys with a 32nd place finish. In JV girls Jamie Broyles finished 9th, Arlene Bermejo finished 10th. The next meet will be Thursday (10/8) at Blue Ridge.

Congratulations to the Caddo Mills Speech and Debate Team. They finished 1st among all 3A schools at the Princeton Speech and Debate Tournament this weekend. There were 41 schools across the region competing with approximately 800 students. The team had 7 students finish as semi-finalists in their event. Additionally, the team finished 7th place in Informative Speaking, 7th place in Original Oratory, 5th and 6th place in High School-Duo Interpretation, 5th and 6th place in Poetry, 6th place in Public Forum Debate, 5th place in Lincoln Douglas Debate and 3 Finalists in Congressional Debate. Students recognized at the tournament as semi-finalists or finalists included Cody Mercer, Rhett Randolph, Alex Dickson, Payton Hammons, Deja Rollins, Shelby Short, Chandler Dickson, Eva Cuzdy, Paige Larocca, Jacie Nicholson, Nicole Forga, Jaclyn Jones, Adam Davis, Kaitlyn Clements, Kenzie McAdams, and Jacob McCain. The team also had 4 new NTDA Qualifers. Congrats to this group of students.

Senior year is important to both the student and to you as a parent, family member or friend. The Yearbook Staff is offering special “senior recognition ads” in the yearbook. These ads will give parents, grandparents, music groups, sports teams and clubs the opportunity to tell their graduate(s) congratulations and to show how proud of them you are in a special way.  Please download the form, complete the information, and return to CMHS no later than Friday—October 30.
